March 18-March 26, 2027
Day 1 & 2
Arrivals-Marrakech
Upon arrival in Marrakech and after check-in, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner within the ancient medina of this vibrant walled city. Surrounded by the sights, sounds, and atmosphere that make Marrakech so unforgettable, this will be the perfect introduction to Morocco. After dinner, we’ll return to our beautiful riad for the evening.
Our first full day in Marrakech begins at the famous Jardin Majorelle, known for its striking cobalt blue architecture and tranquil botanical gardens. We’ll then continue through the historic old city to explore some of Marrakech’s most iconic sites, including Bahia Palace and the gardens surrounding the Koutoubia Mosque.
No visit to Marrakech would be complete without wandering through the lively souks, where narrow alleyways are filled with colorful textiles, spices, lanterns, ceramics, and handcrafted treasures. You’ll have time to explore, take in the atmosphere, and perhaps find a few unique souvenirs to bring home.
This evening, there will be an optional traditional hammam experience — a relaxing and authentic Moroccan spa ritual that is the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.
Day 3, 4, 5
Ouarzazate-Sahara Desert
We journey toward the breathtaking Sahara Desert, traveling through some of Morocco’s most spectacular and ever-changing landscapes. Along the way, we’ll cross the dramatic High Atlas Mountains before stopping at a historic kasbah — a beautifully preserved 19th-century palace that offers a fascinating glimpse into Morocco’s rich history and architecture.
We’ll then continue to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages. Built from clay and straw and dating back centuries, this ancient ksar once played an important role along the trans-Saharan trade routes. Its striking appearance has also made it a backdrop for films and series such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. Nearby, we’ll visit Atlas Studios, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where legendary film sets bring cinematic history to life. Tonight, we stay in Ouarzazate.
As we venture farther south, the scenery shifts once again as we arrive at the dramatic Todra Gorge, where towering orange limestone cliffs rise high above a beautiful river valley and walking path. The scale and beauty of this canyon make it one of Morocco’s most unforgettable natural landscapes. Tonight, we stay in Erfoud.
Our adventure continues with a full day exploring the edge of the Sahara Desert and the cultural traditions of southern Morocco. We’ll visit an ancient ksar steeped in history before experiencing daily life in the region through visits to a traditional Berber market, a fossil workshop in an area renowned for its prehistoric discoveries, and a nomadic family, where we’ll gain insight into life in the desert.
From here, we set out by 4x4 into the Sahara, exploring the vast golden dunes that stretch endlessly across the horizon. There will also be an opportunity to try sandboarding for those seeking a little adventure.
By evening, we arrive in Merzouga at the edge of the great Sahara dunes. Before sunset, we’ll continue our journey by camel into the desert, riding across the sands as the light begins to glow golden across the landscape. At our desert camp, we’ll enjoy a traditional dinner, music beneath the stars, and a peaceful night in the Sahara. With clear skies, we may even witness the breathtaking sight of the Milky Way stretching across the desert sky.
Day 5 & 6
Sahara-Ifrane-Fes
After breakfast at camp, we’ll ride our camels back across the sands and continue our journey north toward Fes.
Along the way, we’ll stop in the mountain town of Ifrane, often nicknamed “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture and surprisingly European atmosphere. As we continue through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, we’ll pause to see the region’s famous Barbary macaques monkeys, who are well accustomed to curious visitors and often gather near the roadside.
By evening, we arrive in Fes, where we’ll settle into our riad, enjoy dinner, and relax after a full day of travel.
The following day, we’ll immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of Fes, home to one of the oldest and most atmospheric medinas in the world. Its maze-like alleyways are filled with hidden courtyards, markets, mosques, workshops, and centuries of history waiting to be explored.
We’ll enter through the famous Blue Gate before discovering some of the city’s most iconic sites, including the remarkable Chouara Tannery, where leather is still dyed and crafted using traditional methods passed down through generations. We’ll also visit the beautiful Nejjarine Fountain and explore a local museum dedicated to Morocco’s rich woodcraft traditions.
As part of our exploration, we’ll learn more about Morocco’s diverse cultural history with a visit to a historic Jewish cemetery and insights into the country’s longstanding Jewish heritage.
After a day filled with history, culture, and discovery, we’ll enjoy dinner together and spend a second evening in our riad in Fes.
Day 7 & 8
Chefchouen-Tangier
We depart early and journey north toward the breathtaking mountain town of Chefchaouen, famously known as the “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. Nestled within the Rif Mountains and founded in 1471, Chefchaouen is renowned for its maze of blue-washed streets and buildings, creating one of the most visually stunning towns in the world.
As we wander through the medina’s narrow alleyways, you’ll have time to soak in the atmosphere, admire the vibrant shades of blue around every corner, browse local shops, and experience the relaxed pace that makes Chefchaouen so special.
We’ll take a short hike to the Spanish Mosque, perched above the town, where sweeping panoramic views of the blue city and surrounding mountains provide the perfect perspective of this unforgettable destination.
This is a day designed for exploration, photography, and simply enjoying the beauty and charm of northern Morocco. In the late afternoon, we’ll continue on to Tangier, where we’ll spend our final night together.
Our tour officially concludes the following morning after breakfast. Flights may be arranged out of Tangier at any time, and airport transportation will be organized for your convenience.
